Financial Planner

A life long resident of Providence, Rhode Island, Matt graduated from Providence College in 1993 with a Bachelors of Arts in Humanities. He then turned to the study of Finance and in 1996 earned a Masters of Business Administration from Providence College.

Matt began his career in banking in 1997 as an estate settlement administrator in the trust department at Rhode Island Hospital Trust. He witnessed a succession of mergers in the banking industry, with the name of the institution changing to Bank of Boston, Fleet National Bank, and finally Bank of America. After becoming a trust officer in 2005 he completed the Certificate in Financial Planning from Bryant University in 2007 and the requirements for the Certified Financial Planner designation in 2008.

After gaining more than a decade of experience in estate planning and wealth management, Matt left the banking industry in 2008 to join Randall Financial Group as a Financial Advisor. As an Enrolled Agent, Matt may represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service and holds the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation from the American Bankers Association.  In addition to being a financial advisor with Randall Financial Group, LLC, Matt is the owner of Good Counsel Tax Service, Inc., a full service tax preparation firm in Uxbridge, MA.

He has been an active volunteer with the Rhode Island Tree Council since 1999 and a member of its board of directors since 2002 and its treasurer since 2011. He lives with his four children and a Llewellin Setter named Freckles in Providence. Among other activities, the family enjoys camping and sailing together in the summer and hiking during all four seasons.
